I am an active member of Christchurch research community with specialization in spectral medical imaging. I lead several clinical streams within the MARS project to advance knowledge in disease diagnosis and treatment management by using the spectral photon-counting (SPCCT) MARS scanner. The technology is translatable to human imaging. Explicitly, I plan and supervise spectral CT imaging experiments in orthopaedics (cartilage and bone health, metal implants, in cancer (nanoparticles for targeting cancer, and measuring drug delivery), in atherosclerosis (measuring calcification, lipid content), and in arthritis (crystal arthropathies). My research in these areas will contribute to improved health outcomes by improving understanding and treatment for major disease. I am PI and NI on the NHF, Genesis Oncology, MedTech CoRE ICP and Cancer Society-funded projects.
