Dr Brian Robinson

Victoria University of Wellington
Department of Graduate School of Nursing, Midwifery & Health

My key research interest are related to patient safety and clinical education. This includes exploring simulation for clinical education, mechanisms to mitigate or reduce the impact of preventable patient harm that can occur during clinical care and the usability, safety and ergonomics of biomedical device leading to the safe introduction new health technologies. In 1997 I was appointed to establish the first patient simulation training centre in New Zealand where I developed my interest in the use of simulation in patient safety research and clinical education. This research is supporting by my previous clinical research experience in psychopathology and pharmacology.
