My research is about Human-Computer Interaction. It involves new medical devices that incorporate real-time sensor technology, in particular eye gaze user interfaces. I have published widely on health gaming technology, health informatics and user interfaces for both healthcare and accessibility.
Currently I am working in collaboration with the Auckland Bioengineering Institute on developing a new medical device for gamifying chest physiotherapy. This project won the 2015 UniServices Research Commercialisation Prize. I have also developed and patented a second technology, the currently fastest method for clicking with eye gaze, which will be used in medical devices to provide accessibility.
