Medical Technology Association New Zealand (MTANZ)
Faye Sumner is the Chief Executive Officer for the Medical Technology Association of New Zealand (MTANZ) and previous to this she was the New Zealand Manager for a multinational medical device company and also served as the elected Chairman of the industry Board. As the CEO, Faye has been at the forefront of negotiations with the Government and Ministry of Health in the development of proposed New Zealand medical device regulations and more recently the healthcare reforms and procurement of medical devices for New Zealand.
Faye is a member of the APEC Code of Business Ethics for Medical Devices Expert Working Group that developed the Kuala Lumpur Principles that are now being adopted and implemented across the APEC economies.
Faye was recognised by the industry members in 1999 when she was made an Honorary Life Member of the Medical Technology Association of NZ
Faye is Registered Nurse with a business qualification from the University of Auckland. Faye is also a Trustee of the University of Auckland, School of Medicine Foundation, a member of the NZ Heart Foundation Board and the NZ Artificial Limb Board.
Recently, Faye was appointed by the University of Auckland to the new Medical Technologies Centre of Research Excellence Governing Board
