Dr Gregory O’Grady

Dr. O’Grady completed his PhD in Surgery and Bioengineering at the University of Auckland in 2011, before completing his surgical training (FRACS) in Australia in 2014. He has recently returned to an academic position at the University of Auckland, where he is currently establishing the ‘Surgical Engineering Laboratory’. He leads research focused on medical device development, translational gastrointestinal physiology, and neuromodulation. He currently plays a central role in the MedTech CoRE’s Flagship Gastrointestinal Mapping project, and is also generating innovative new devices with relevance to surgical practice. He is a practising colorectal surgical fellow at Auckland City Hospital.
