Dr Kumar Mithraratne

Kumar Mithraratne graduated with a Bachelor of Science of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. He received a Master of Science with Distinction from the University of London (King’s College London) and a PhD from the National University of Singapore, both in Mechanical Engineering.
Kumar is a recipient of the British Government Technical Corporation Fellowship and University of Auckland Postdoctoral Fellowship. Currently he is a Senior Research Fellow and a Principal Investigator in the ABI.
Kumar’s areas of expertise include Joint mechanics, Finite and linear deformation analysis of biological and engineering structures, Facial biomechanics, Computational fluid mechanics, Mesh based particle methods, Heat Transfer, Thermal modelling of buildings and refrigeration and air-conditioning, Finite element and finite difference methods & Computational software development.
