I am a clinical anatomist with 34 years’ experience. My main research area is the fine architecture of the soft-hard tissue interface. I established a world-leading novel technique – combining sheet plastination and confocal microscopy, which allows the interface to be examined undisturbed in its natural state. Using this technical innovation I have had close collaborations with clinicians from New Zealand, Australia, China and Spain, unraveling a number of clinical issues. My ground-breaking research findings were not only selected as the cover pages or highlights in the top-ranked clinical journals but also adopted as new anatomical concepts by Gray’s Anatomy.
