Nina Pettersson-Fox

Auckland Bioengineering Institute, University of Auckland
Doctoral Training Programme Coordinator

Nina has a background in Tourism Management, which began with studying for a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Tourism at Bournemouth University. Her journey has taken her from tour operations, hotel front office, tourist board rep, expo’s and roadshows to corporate travel consultancy work in Norway and the UK.

In 2010, Nina moved into tutoring at the New Zealand School of Tourism, where she later became later Head of Studies. Here her role involved coaching and mentoring staff and students as well as liaising with the travel industry on behalf of graduates with the aim to gain a career.

Nina came to the ABI in 2015 as the new Doctoral Training Programme Co-ordinator for the MedTech CoRE. She is currently leading the implementation of the new Doctoral Training Programme in Medical Technologies, and will be responsible for the programme’s on-going operational requirements once the programme is established.

Nina works with all the CoRE partner institutions, as well as with affiliated industry and healthcare providers. An important part of her ongoing role will be coaching and mentoring the students, supporting them in achieving their goals.
