Background:
Point of Care diagnostics for drug resistant TB and malaria. High throughput analysis of the occurrence of mutidrug resistant TB in SE Asia. High throughput analysis of the occurrence of artemesinin resistant malaria in SE Asia. Sequencing of difficult to culture pathogenic microorganisms.

The biosynthesis of pharmacogically active small cyclic peptides. These are designed around small neurologically active peptides found in invertebrate venoms (such as marine cone shells, arachnids and centipedes). The biosynthesis is achieved using split inteins from various bacteria.
